The Honey pattern is a dress that is offered several versions in order to play with materials and options and obtain different results for all occasions. It is also available as a swimsuit using a suitable fabric.
Honey must be made in a fabric with a stretch between 30 and 50%. If the stretch ofyour fabric is less than 30%, size up by one size. Conversely, if your fabric's elasticity isgreater than 50%, size down.
In order to know the elasticity percentage of your fabric, it is not enough to look at theelastane rate that composes it. Take your fabric in the most stretchy direction and puta pin (be careful not to place the pin at the edge of the fabric). Then, put another pin 25centimeters from the first and stretch your fabric. The number of extra centimeterscorresponds to your elasticity rate. For example, i
f the swatch measures 25cm x 25cm,the calculation will be: 3 1.25-25 = 6.25 6.25 / 25 = 0.25 0.25 x 100 = 25%.
As for the type of material, you can use any stretchy fabric for the dress as long as ithas good recovery. That is, when you stretch it and release it, the fabric returns to itsoriginal size. I do not recommend a fabric that is too loose such as viscose jersey. Forthe swimsuit version, choose a suitable fabric that is resistant to salt and chlorine
such as lycra.
