The Rumi sewing pattern is a loose-fitting design that can be sewn both as a dress as well as a top. With different lengths and optional hem shapes (rounded, straight, with side slit and without) and an optional elasticated waist, Rumi offers various possibilities to customize the cut. Choosing the dress with elasticated waist, this pattern will create a comfortable flattering silhouette featuring your narrowest point. For those who like it a bit cheeky, the Rumi sewing pattern offers two different necklines, one ending above the bust, one a bit lower. Rumi has strongly dropped shoulders and short sleeves, which are cut on fold. Due to the generous width in the bust area, Rumi is also suitable for a fuller cup. Rumi is suitable for both casual outfits and chic combinations, entirely depending on your choice of fabric and your imagination. All seam allowances are included in the pattern pieces and are 1 cm (3/8”) unless otherwise stated.
Sizing: Size packs are 32-46 / 2-16, 42-60 / 12-60 with 3 sized overlay for easy grading between the sizes if needed. In all pdf files the sizes can be selected individually for printing.

Rumi is a design that is suitable for both slightly stretchy fabrics and firm woven. If you want a bit more structure, you're best served with firmer linen, poplin and similar qualities. If you want an airy look, I recommend flowy fabrics made of viscose, washed linen or silk in a lightweight quality. Tip: If you plan to sew plain fabrics or fabrics with a flexible directional print, you can also cut cross-grain and thus significantly reduce the amount of fabric used. Same if you choose to use a neckband cut from a matching fabric scrap of similar fabric quality or piece it together from your used fabrics scraps.
