Claudie is a pair of trapeze shorts with side pockets and a removable tie belt. The garment fastens with an invisible zipper in the center back seam. The pleated waist effect is created with tucks on the front and waist darts on the back. The shorts are above-knee length.

Choosing a size for a protruding tummy
For women: to choose the right size for bottom garments, use the hip measurement plus the tummy protrusion
To sew these shorts, choose suiting and dress-weight fabrics with the following properties:
- medium weight, soft, structured, opaque
- the fiber content can include natural fibers (cotton, linen, lightweight wool), blends (cotton + polyester, linen + polyester, etc.), and synthetics (polyester)
- the following fabrics are recommended: thick dress-weight cotton sateen, lightweight denim, repp fabric, heavyweight linen, gabardine, cotton piqué, cotton jacquard.
The shorts in the photo are made of natural linen. The fabric is soft, heavyweight, and holds its shape well.

IMPORTANT! When purchasing fabric, please account for shrinkage and buy 5% more than required.
2. Lightweight knit interfacing, 2 strips, 1.5 cm (5/8") wide and 25 cm (9 7/8”) long each; 2 strips, 1 cm (3/8") wide and 25 cm (9 7/8") long each.
3. Matching thread — 1 spool for the sewing machine + 4 spools for the overlocker.
4. One invisible zipper, 30 cm (11 3/4”) long (if no such length is available, get a longer zipper and shorten it).
