Piper is a pair of semi-fitted shorts with a straight cut. The shorts feature side seam pockets. The side seams are split at the hem. The top edge is finished with elastic. The shorts are mid-hip length.

To sew these shorts, choose shirting fabrics:
- medium weight, structured, low-stretch, opaque
- the fiber content can include natural fibers, artificial fibers, blends, and synthetics
Recommended fabrics: stretch shirting, stretch cotton, lightweight stretch denim.
The shorts are made of stretch cotton shirting. The fabric is medium weight and has very little stretch. The fiber content is 98% cotton and 2% elastane.
