Hilma is a semi-fitted robe with a straight cut. The robe features a shawl collar and patch pockets at the front. The front edge is finished with a facing. Hilma has an extended shoulder line and long, semi-fitted set-in sleeves. The detachable tie belt is secured with belt loops at the side seams. The robe is above-ankle length.

Approximate sewing time — 1 day (8 hours).
Sizing: this pattern includes sizes EU34 - EU52 (approximately UK 6/ US 2 - UK 24 / US 20). Check the Size chart tab to choose the right size. If you are between the sizes, choose the larger size.

Choosing a size for a protruding tummy

For women: to choose the right size for bottom garments, use the hip measurement plus the tummy protrusion

 

To sew this robe, choose fabrics with the following properties:

- medium weight, structured, opaque, non-stretch or with very little stretch

- the fiber content can include natural fibers (wool, cotton), artificial fibers (viscose), blends (wool + silk, wool + polyester, cotton + viscose, etc.), and synthetics (polyester, polyester + elastane)

- the following fabrics are recommended: cotton, sateen, waffle, terry, flannel.

Attention! We do not recommend stretchy fabrics (knits) or loosely-woven lightweight fabrics.

The robe in the photo is made of waffle fabric. The fabric is structured and non-stretch. The fiber content is 100% cotton. The fabric weight is 240 g/m2.

2. Matching thread — 5 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 4 spools for the overlocker)

- sewing machine for construction

- stitch-in-the-ditch foot for the sewing machine (optional)

- overlocker for finishing raw edges. It can be replaced with a stretch overlock stitch or a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine (overlock or zigzag stitch width 2–3 mm, stitch length 2.5 mm).
